Midwives need advice on allergy relief

I am seriously suffering from seasonal allergies right now. I'm using an OTC decongestant, but not sure if I should be using it.

Please help!

I'm not sure what meds are safe during pregnancy but Nettle (urtica dioica) is always highly recommended for pregnancy. I would imagine you are familiar with it. Well, another benefit of it is that it helps with outdoor allergies. (I learned about this from Dr. Andrew Weil.) In my personal experience, it works well. I think capsules work better for allergy purposes. Check it out!

Yes, the freeze-dried nettle caps work well for some folks. You might have to try different things. Goldenrod leaf tea/infusion works well. Eyebright. No ephedra.
There are some Chinese patent formulas that work well but check with a TCM practitioner about use in pregnancy.
Homeopathy works well too- consult a homeopath for help getting the proper remedy
I would not use any of the more "medicinal" herbs all the time- just when you need them. Nutritional herbs are more like food. You can build your system up taking these on a regular basis. Nettle leaf, oats, alfalfa, red clover, red raspberry can all be alternated throughtout pregnancy (or life!)

Quercitin, nettles and Vit C. That gets me through my pregnancies.
