Diva DISASTER - HELP!!!

Ok, so I love my Diva Cup, but I had a huge disaster today! I was at work and using the public restroom, and I dropped the DC in the toilet! Normally it'd be like whatever, fish it out and disinfect when I got home. But I had to put it back in, because I didn't have a pad or tampon, and I couldn't use a makeshift pad, becuase I was wearing a thong and dress pants.

So I had to put it back in! EEWWWWWW. I only had it in about an hour, but I'm really grossed out now and want to "disinfect" my vagina. There was only blood and water in the toilet, but there were also whatever ambient residual germs from other people. What should I do???

I suggest you wash your divacup thoroughly when you get home and not worry about it. Maybe boil it or soak it in hydrogen peroxide after washing if you're really concerned.

If you really feel the need to "disinfect" yourself, I'd suggest letting yourself 'air out" and using pads for a few hours (or the remainder of this cycle), so your vagina can naturally self-clean.

Thanks for the reply - I'm not too worried about the cup, but I did pick up some hydrogen peroxide just in case. As for the vag, I think I'll stick with pads overnight, but apparently lots of people on the internet have done the same thing (reinserted without having a chance to thoroughly clean) and nothing happened. I guess we'll see, uh, what develops.
