Not a single sign

Anyone else have not a single sign of impending labor before it started?

No bloody show
No noticeable loss of plug
No water breakage/leakage
No real contractions

I'm 2 days from my EDD and just wondering how many other people felt this far from "ready" when labor started. Do you think I have another 2 weeks ahead of me?

Awww, I will join you in the no impending labor signs boat. Except add in loss of plug, or I think I am losing some of it for weeks. And contractions all the time, but not many feeling productive.

I am losing hope for a May baby, I really, really wanted a May baby, too many early June birthdays.

Yeah. Pearls suck as a birthstone. I don't think it's even a "stone." Humph.

But real pearls are awesome on a beautiful strand. And there are some amazing pearl rings, pearl broaches, necklaces....seriously. They can be very beautiful.

True, but as a birthstone? I just can't really picture one on a mother's ring or something, and that makes me sad.

Crown jewels have lot of pearls FWIR.

The question of whether it is a stone is well another question.

But then again, I've never liked turquoise (my birth stone).

Hey, turquoise is me too. Though I've always gone with Blue Topaz. It's easier to put in a setting with other stones.

You seriously need to google up some cool antique pearls!

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about the pearls. One of my favorite necklaces is pearls. I'm just not convinced that they make great birthstones. Birthstones are supposed to be translucent and match with OTHER birthstones.

I mean, one of these things is not like the others.... one of these things just doesn't belong....

P.S. - This is the best random convo ever. Really.

Okay, so I admit, I know nothing nor do I care anything about birthstones. What is the point?

Yet, I liked googling up pearls.

You can't see through an opal can you?

Ooh, that necklace is gorgeous!

I think opals are translucent, but not transparent.

I think the people born in October and June are just out of luck in the birthstone requirement department.
Opals and pearls are both beautiful but too soft to wear in rings. They are not hard enough to withstand the wear and tear of being on the hand.

I have had two labors start with no real warning at all. This one, I had one wipe with toilet paper that had some clear mucus and a slightly tanish tinged tiny glob of mucus that I was guessing was a bit of plug. when I say tiny, I mean about pea sized or smaller. That's it! So, no real prelabor indicatators for me.

No signs for me either. Still just waiting and waiting. Baby hasn't been moving too much. When I went to the midwives they did an exam on my cervix (never had one last time so I'm not sure why they wanted to do one this time) And they said I was 70 % effaced and 3 cm dilated. Not that that's too exciting because I hear you can walk around that way for weeks. LOL.

PuppyFluffer, that makes me feel much better.

Now my DH was born in October, and his mom has a pink stone on her mother's ring for him. Is this where we get the Alexandrite for June thing from?

Not in your DDC, but I'm due this weekend, too! As I figured I'd always have a June baby, I spend most my time in the June DDC. But, to answer your question, get it in your head now that you might have 2 more weeks - set that as your new EDD. My 3rd was 6 days late which wasn't so bad, but my 4th was 11 days late and it was awful!! I never thought I'd go that late (my first two were right on time). Every day was so slow. I had ZERO signs right up until labor. No BH's, no real CX's, no CM. Nothing. Nada. Not until the loss of my bloody mucous plug which always happens for me within 24-48 hours of labor/birth.

So, this time, I'm really trying to prepare myself to go into mid-June. I'm telling myself I'll have the baby by Father's Day. If I don't set that as my "date", I know I'm going to go crazy. Especially with babies already being born in our DDC!!!

Trust me, we won't be pregnant forever!!!

You're smart! It didn't even cross my mind to try to be one of the first in the June DDC as opposed to LAST in the May one.

We did a baby poll, and I put June 7 as my predicted date. I'm not TOO bummed - just impatient!
