talk to me about fabric - fleece in particular

Ok,
I just went to Joann's and they really don't have anything like micro fleece or micro suede, but they had anti-pill fleece and cuddle fleece (oh so so soft). Both are 100% polyester. Please tell me what you would do with these. Can I use them inside a pocket diaper with PUL on the outside. Or can these fleeces be used as the waterproof cover instead of PUL.

What would you all do? I am interested in making pockets, fitteds, and AI2 (I think that is how it's written).

Can you tell I am a fabric newbie?

Thanks!!!

I have used the anti-pill for the water proof outer but it will "compression-wick" if the diaper gets too wet. I usually double it to prevent that but it does make for a pretty bulky dipe. I don't think I would use it on the inside of the diaper (up against the skin) because I think the liquid would not pass through quick enough and it would cause it to run out of the legs. I know microfleece works good against the skin because the liquid passes through quickly and it stays dry to the touch. I have on occasion found microfleece at joanns-it will say microfleece right on the end of the bolt. It wasn't with the other fleece, it was over in the nursery/baby fabrics. I don't know what cuddle fleece is...I have also used fleece as the decorative outer layer (over the pul) This makes a great night time diaper because you'll have the waterproof PUL barrier and then the water resistant fleece as backup. This way it's also not as bulky as two layers of fleece. HTH!
