Prefold to prefitteds without serging?

Has anyone done this before without serging. I have seen this pattern on http://www.diapersewing.com/prefold_to_fitted.htm

But since it's not spelled out for me on how to do it without serging, I don't know what to do

For that pattern, you could do a faux serging (where you straight stitch around the edge and then go over the stitch with a zig zag stitch). You will have to trim the fabric a bit after you wash but it should hold up as well as serging it.

I just zigzagged mine with an almost satin stitch- watch out- it takes a bajillion spools of thread to do a bunch!
