For some babies, bibs are basically just for looks. Some don't spit up much at all, and some don't drool much. (My kids were like fountains of spitting up, but not much of the drooling.) Some don't do much of either. And a lot of people go for more waterproof stuff for the eating-solids bibs. So I guess if you're making bibs based on "dry" babies

, then acrylic would work (although I'd expect the bibs to be less comfortable in acrylic).
