i am now 40 weeks... i went to the mw yesterday and had her check me. she told me that almost all of my plug was gone (i saw a little bit blood tinged a couple hours ago- so i am guessing at this point it IS all gone) and she said also that i am almost totally effaced and that the baby is in position. she told me that i am 1 cm dialated. i understand that with first babies, first comes effacement then dilation- she seemed rather optimistic and swept my membranes in an effort to jumpstart things.
