How to make Ice chips? - Page 2

You can eat whatever you want, but having something easy on the stomach(I drank mint tea) available is a good idea

Just sip a glass of water with a straw in it. No need for ice chips. Eat/drink whatever you're in the mood for.

Just get the all-natural ones. I went through a few of those Edy's lime popsicles with my first birth.

I'm not the OP, but I think the "poor creature" refers to a woman being restricted from eating and drinking at will, not for having a hosp. birth. I have had 1 hosp birth and 1 home birth and don't feel like a "poor creature' for birthing in a hosp (although i'll never do it again now that I've had the alternative) - But I resented having to sneak food during my 19 hour labor. Thanksfully, my CNM was supportive of me drinking juice along with water in labor.

Ice chips - personally, I was actually thirsty, not just wanting to crunch something. I wanted actual beverages, and rotated between ice water, juice and gatorade. With DS (homebirth) labor was barely over 2 hours, no time to drink!

By "poor creature" I meant that you are restricted from eating and drinking during your birthing time. I didnt mean it in a derogatory way at all. I just cant imagine not being able to eat for hours....

I think Im starting to crave ice chips now! I wish I had a "sonic" in my area!

I homebirthed, but loved having ice chips in my drinks. We bought a bag of ice from our local Sonic (fast food place) since I like how their ice is shaped.
