Possibly tmi. Pain during sex.

Well we've attempted sex three times now (4-8wks pp) and it still really hurts.
The weird thing is that it doesn't hurt where I had my 3rd degree tear but on the opposite side. It feels like he's rubbing on an open wound, kind of a burning pain.

Is this ever going to go away?

Well, I had a c-section and we tried last week (after the all clear from the dr), and it hurt. From everything I've read, it's normal, especially if you're breastfeeding.

Blech. After you posted I did a search and found this on the Dr. Spock site.

"Loss of the female hormone estrogen, which occurs temporarily in all women after giving birth, can cause the vaginal tissues to become thin and somewhat raw. This can lead to a burning sensation during or after sexual intercourse. Breastfeeding moms, in particular, can have low estrogen levels for months after the baby is born."

I agree with the estrogen thing...Even more TMI- it is all about some good lube for the first few months pp!!

I'm just not going to have sex ever again. That's the stage i'm in at 4 week pp.

seriously...no drive whatsoever. DH isn't pressuring me or seeming to mind (he did see the birth, maybe he'll never look at me the same again!). Lots of cuddling and kisses and sweetness, but no sex. uh uh!

Plus i really need nipple stimulation to get going. its a huge thing for me...and with nursing, milk leaking, and thrush...that is NOT going to happen...

So yup. no more sex.

I had a 4th degree laceration, so even at nearly 10 weeks post-partum, sex is uncomfortable even with lots of lube. My OBs advice when giving the all-clear was to take it easy & treat the first several or more times as physical therapy since she, and I quote, "had to build a new one".

Yeah I'm not particularly in the mood either but was willing to give it ago for dh. As soon as I started grimacing he stopped, I told him to continue but he refused. We did use lots of lube.

I agree with this;

Last thing I want is too lay in a puddle of milk! It's bad enough that Izzy keeps puking on me.
