newborn longies dimensions?

Anyone want to give me an inseam and leg diameter? I am makeing a pair using my good standby pattern and my legs seem awefully wide- I am thinking of frogging the legs and tapering them down a little. nbs have tiny legs and I think they will be completely lost in this ginormous legs (plus they would be kinda breezy for a tiny baby)- and as for the inseam- I am kind of limited on the amount of yarn that I have- but they would end up being about 5 1/2" long- that should be good right? nbs are pretty short from what I recall. I could always go digging in my bins for a pair of nb pants to measure off of- but that would be a whole lotta work.

Thanks!

I recently measured a friends newborn, for my own longie knitting for yet to be born babe.

Her baby was 8 pounds at birth, and I measured her at 1 week old.

I got the following-

Waist- 16
Hips- 16
Rise- 12
Thigh- 7
Leg inseam- 6-7 (it could have been 5 but I may have added an inch or two for growing)

Hope that helps
