I updated on post #69, it took him awhile to understand and get how much of a need this is for me, but once he did we've had definite improvement in a LOT of our relationship.

My dh felt the same way so with my first birth we went to the hospital. I had no privacy and people telling me what to try, and was just plain not in my comfortable surroundings, and after 12 hours and 7cm i caved and had an epi...which slowed labor. They wanted to give pitocin but luckily i was able to squat, kneel, and dh did nipple stimulation and we got things going again and had no other intervention. I was so depressed for about 2 months and still battle my failed natural birth every day...so much so that dh says he will get another job if need be to pay for our next birth because no amount of money is worth how lousy i felt/feel. Frankly it stinks that we paid $100 for all prenatal and birth expenses at the hospital but with a home birth we will pay about $1000 or more...that stinks...but it's an expense that we will figure out next time! Best wishes!

awesome!

You'll find a way to pay for it. We're kind of in the same boat. It's like "Okay, now that we're having a homebirth and all our money is going toward that, um... can easy mac sustain a healthy pregnancy??"

I'm sorry you weren't able to have the birth you wanted Rachael.
