With my son, I went to my family doctor and had an ok experience with the doctor but a terrible experience with the office and the hospital. I vowed this time around I would make an informed decision and shop around a little. I have 2 midwife consults lined up for next week but went to an OB today, one recommended to me by my regular doctor.
OMG! The doctor was rude, tried to force me to have another u/s today "to see if this one was a keeper" and basically said their was little hope since we did not see the heartbeat on Tuesday at 6 week, 1 day even though the radiologist and my doctor both agreed it otherwise looked great and was just a touch too early. She must have cut me off every time I managed to string more than 5 words together in our 10 minute visit! Ugh. I declined the u/s since I wanted to wait a few weeks- something my doctor thought was a good idea.
I was so sure they were NOT the provider I wanted, I called from the parking lot and told them to bill it as a single visit and to not expect me back. Whew.
I am hoping for a much better experience next week with at least 1 of the midwives. If I decide to see an OB, it won't be this office.
