Weird morning diapers

My LO has had weird morning diapers lately. For the last three days the wet parts of the diaper (just on the insert - not on the pocket part) is red. Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

I concur...what should she do?

(my lo had this after his second out-of-the-womb pee, I told my mws, they said it can happen in new babes on occasion, and it has never re-occured for us.....)

Well you said it happens in the mornings. How long is your babe sleeping during the nights? If your LO is sleeping pretty well through the nights it is possible during a long stretch of sleep your LO is getting dehydrated. Try to feed a lot before bedtime.
That's all I could think of doing. If it keeps happening you should see a LC to evaulate your supply.

Either the urine crystals or I was also thinking maybe it is the "baby period" I remember hearing about when I had dd. Something about withdrawing from Mom's hormones and baby can have a bit of vag spotting...
