yesterday may 30 harmony faith entered our world. on thursday night i had a few contractions spacing 30 minutes apart. i had a few during the night then at 5am i got really uncomfortable and could not find any position that was comfortable. i went into the bath and found it comfortable there but did not want to jinx myself so i got out and went back to bed. i really could not get comfortable so i got up at 6:40 and hubby got up and i told him i thought he should bring haven to my mils since i was having a hard time concentrating when the contractions were hitting. after haven and joe left i came on here and was checking how everyone was but then got some really painful contractions i called my midwife at 8:05 and she said unless they were 8 minutes apart she would not call it labor. by 9 they were getting closer so i called joe since there was just no way i was going through this by myself. i still thought it was false labor. joe asked how close and i said i didn't know. i started timing and they were 6 minutes apart. i figured joe could call the midwife when he got home. he got home at 9:15 and started charting they were now 2 to 1 minute apart. there were short ones and long ones the short ones i could breath saying open and relax but the long ones were more like ow, oh sh*t, oh god help me. joe called the midwife and she said she was on the way. by the time she got here i was just trying to survive so she said let me check you since i was breech up till 39 weeks and she just wanted to make sure of what we are dealing with. i then threw up and ran to the bathroom for some more throwing up. at that point i was ready to go and have another csection or go for an epidural since i was sure this time it would work. joe talked me out of it and i am now grateful because my midwife said you need to come out since i was making pushing noises. i got checked and was past 10 cm so i got in my birth pool. it was the most amasing feeling. the contractions stopped and all i felt was pressure. so i pushed and after about 30 minutes harmony faith came. she was born at 12:08pm. she just looked around and took everything in. i got out of the tub and went to the couch to deliver the placenta and bleed heavily which scared them. i didn't hemorage but at the time they thought i was. i was given pitocin and the baby to latch on so the bleeding would stop. i didn't feel sick or anything and talked through the whole ordeal. joe prayed and the bleeding stopped after that. joe had gotten up to call 911 right after praying and the midwife said forget it it stopped. i am just flying high right now still on my adrenline high. i still can't believe that i had such a short labor and easy birth even with the bleeding.
she is a little barcudia on the breast i feel like my nipples are going to fall off. i really need to get some sheild or something.
she weighed in at 7lbs 10 oz and is 21 inches long estimated.
