My fellow activistas,

Hi everyone! Finally, a place I can feel at home with my strong and sturdy opinions. While I love spreading the message of activism, people can totally wear me down. Here, I don't feel so crazy.....

Anyway, I need some help and advice. I am in the beginning stages of spearheading a grassroots movement in my larger community. There is a relatively small community of safe birth professionals and advocates of physiological birth. My wish is to form a network of said people so that women, in the beginning stages of their pregnancies, can be given the proper educational opportunities so that they may make the chioice that best suits them. As in many American communities, women have come to assume that their first stop must be the ob/gyn or the hospital. These women need to be given back the control of their own bodies.

My questions are, among others: Non-profit or simply grassroots organization?
How should I go about unifying these people? Should I hold a meeting/info session?

Any advice is welcome

I'm ignorant when it comes to this but it seems to me that you may want to talk to the said safe practitioners in person to make sure there's not already a loose connection - and see if they have associations in common that would make promoting them easier.......I'm trying to say find out what's in place so you know where to build.........
