I need some advice regarding whether or not to be stitched up on my next birth (assuming I tear).
My first birth, almost three years ago, I tore down toward my anus, about half an inch or so. The midwife (hospital birth) put in a few stitches. It healed but felt somewhat uncomfortable, especially during intercourse.
My second birth, 10 months ago, I tore again, same place and about the same amount. I opted for no stitches hoping it would heal up on it's own and avoid the discomfort of having stitches. I kept my legs together the best I could during the healing time. But it never healed together. Now I'm very uncomfortable during intercourse. I feel like I'm going to tear farther if any pressure is put on that area.
Now I'm looking forward to my third (and hopefully final) birth in four months. I am wondering if there is anything I can do to resolve this discomfort, either by opting for stitches after the birth or something else to aid in healing that area the way it should be.
Any advice for me?
