I have an Etsy shop and I was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice on how to advertise and bring traffic to your site? My sales seem sporatic and I am just wondering what others do to boost sales...

I have heard to list a new item every few days... I think because they feature new items maybe?? I don't have a etsy shop, but my sister mentioned that about her shop.

Put more info in your signiature?

Perhaps it would help to put more info in your signiature and to join the MDC - moms street team.

Perhaps having your etsy site instead of you blog site as your homepage URL in your User CP?

I renew on a pretty regular basis. I also hang out in the forums and chat a lot. I've noticed it gets me a lot of hearts, but sales not so much. I've only been there about a month and a half though. I've had 3 sales so far, and 2 more are pending.
If you post a link to your shop I could provide a critique. They also do critiques on the forums there if you're interested.

visit me there if you'd like

One of the most important elements in online marketing is patience. You kind of have to be like the tortouise. Create your marketing plan, carry out your plan and keep doing what you're doing. And soon, your hard work will pay off.

Too many people fail at selling online simply because they quit before they ever even get close to the finish line, so to speak.

great shop! You do need to fill out your policies section, though.

I think getting yourself out there in front of real people and building an email/newsletter list is probably one of the best things you can do. I'm working on it. Repeat customers are the backbone of my little business, so I want to create as many of them as I can by keeping in touch with them on a regular (but not annoying, lol) basis.

I think flickr is a really good networking site for etsians - we already have lots of photos!! I've had some sales from flickr contacts.

i too have an etsy shop...... http://www.vmdesigns.etsy.com

my advice is to list/relist/renew regularly and advertise off etsy. i use flickr and do most of my advertsing locally.

Tags. You need more tags.

I recently did a search for wool felt birthday crowns and yours did not come up! I see from your listing that you do use wool, but "wool" is not one of your tags, so it didn't show up in my search. If I search using "tags, titles, description" it does, but I hardly ever use that.

That may help a bit!

i agree with the tags. use all the tags you can.
kids, wool, crown, waldorf, imagination play, everything you can think of. the tags are how ppl find your stuff. i try to use ten or twelve of them for each product. also try and add one item per day, that way your at the top page as much as possible.
