Pros and Cons of Gas drops/Mylicon?

Can anyone tell me if there are reasons I should not give my 10-week-old son gas drops? Generally I stay away from non-natural interventions, but in the last couple weeks my son has gotten squirmy about half hr. after each nursing, and this continues until he is crying lots and very uncomfortable. He burps some, but that doesn't seem to lessen his discomfort. It is affecting his previously sound, predictable sleep times, and wearing me ragged. Or does anyone know what else I can do? I'm not eating caffeine, or anything in the broccoli family . . . and I usually only eat cultured milk products (yogurt, kefir, cheese, etc). Thanks.

1. I didn't find Mylecon drops to do much. Gripe Water, on the other hand, was wonderful.

2. Food intolerances... try cutting out milk and soy...

Simethicone is is fairly harmless.

Have you tried block nursing? It really helped with my son.

I haven't heard of block nursing? Is that like cluster nursing?

It's sticking to one breast for two hours, then switching to the other, to make sure that your baby gets the fatty hindmilk, which can help with gas.
