Autism linked to prematurity

What I find really fascinating is the way this fits into the recent study linking c-section to prematurity. Could the skyrocketing c-section rate explain part of the rise in diagnoses of autism and autism-spectrum disorder?

I've always kind of wondered if our screwed up birthing practices might be linked to autism--whether it's the drugs or the treatment of the babies at/immediately after birth. I hadn't thought of c-sections in that regards, but that makes sense too. But it seems kind of hard to believe no one hasn't already looked at this.
