36 weeks and 3 days.
Had a drs appt today and showed the OB who is kinda family friend my birth plan. Well, she didn't like it very much! She kept saying, "Maybe this is how things are done in UK/US, but we won't do these things here at this hospital!" I had a hard time being politely insistent! Then, she has the gall to say, "but I really wanted for you to have a nice, pain-free birth with my great epidural ideas!"
I was so out of it from lack of sleep the night before that I barely noticed my bp or weight stats, but heck, it must've been normal or someone would've said something. Then OB did standard High Vaginal Swab and Rectal Swab.
when OB left room, the older doc said that she was really impressed w/ my determination to deliver pain-free, I was first woman she's seen in 9 yrs who automatically and insistently refused the epidural offer. then the med student (yeah, it was a full house in that dr's room!) whined about my refusal to allow med students to see me in active birth, but the older lady understood my desire for privacy.
Draining day. I swear the highlight was making a tuna melt sandwich for dinner and not burning the thing on the cast iron pan (yippeee!).

mama
I'm starting to feel like an outcast because I'm the only one in the entire group of 40 women who wants a natural birth enough to not give in at the first suggestion otherwise. It's a very lonely place to be in.
: Urgh. Not to mention the scheduled cesareans for too-big-baby and too-small-pelvis.

I guess alot of it has to do with the attitude it is said with. Yesterday, a woman said, "You're about to pop!" I hate that phrase! I felt like saying, "Um, no, my belly is not going to explode. The baby will actually come out my vagina believe it or not. There is not an alien in there." Yeah, I am a little grouchy from the pubic pain when I am out.
Not enough to bug me or make me want to scrub though...
