lots of mold on comforter

Thread Starter
I left our king sized comforter on our basement floor for about a week and now most of it is covered in mold, is there any way to salvage it? I did wash it in hot water w/ vinegar, haven't dried it yet, but it did not come out. I had to wash it at the laundromat, too big for our washer.
Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Kristin

Hang it outside in the bright sunshine is the best I've got for you. It will fade, though, if it is dark or bright colored. The sun is nature's "bleach".

Also, I don't usually advocate or use bleach, but it is actually the only way I know to get rid of mold and mildew...with SUPER HOT water.

You can buy non-chlorine bleach at any health food store - 7th Generation and Ecover both make it. It is a very strong dilution of hydrogen peroxide and will get most stains out. It isn't good to get on your skin. I would add at least a cup to the bleach thingy at the laundrymat. Normally, I would say you need to soak it for a while but they doesn't sound possible if you have to use a laundrymat.
