Remind me how it'll all be worth it - Page 2

Oh mama you are so amazing to sacrifice so much to give not only you but your babe an amazing welcome earthside.

I know what it is like to have to scrimp and scrape by and worry for your homebirth, but I just keep on thinking about the alternative. HOMEBIRTH ROCKS!!!

You will make this happen one way or another. I totally understand money struggles and it sucks because HB is a large chunk to shell out in a short amount of time but when it's something we really want we make it happen.

Have you thought about maybe taking a light babysitting job in the meantime before you are due? I know there isn't much time but I paid for almost half of my MW fees for our baby due in Oct. by babysitting.

You could also start a baby pool with weight, date and gender (if you don't already know) do it on a big piece of poster board and let everyone buy squares. We are going to do this to pay for cloth diapers and we don't even know that many people and we don't have any family that will be participating but it all counts.

It is so so worth it. I just had my baby on the 26th at home, and it was the most beautiful fulfilling thing i have ever done. It was hard and it wasnt all rainbowos and roses, but it was amazing. I felt respected and dignified, and afterwards i got to go to my own bed and snuggle with my babe. I would do whatever it took to ensure that all of my babies enter the world this way.

Ok, I thought so, but I get confused when there are no kids in the signatures! lol

My birth wasn't all romantic candles and dim lights, not even a little. I watched Friends through most of the labor. I became my birthing animal self as transition approached. I wasn't all calm and quiet and zen, but I was fierce! It was perfect.

Thanks everyone, I feel a lot better after reading the responses! I don't have any kind of support system IRL, so I have to turn to strangers online to boost me up. It works though.

I have had a 3 day induction turned c/s at 10 cm for breech
a unmedicated hospital vbac, a planned hb turned unmedicated hosp vbac, and a water birth at home. While I loved all my births if I could choose to do one over again it would most likely be the HWBAC (though I would like it to be a little longer ). Homebirth is awesome, amazing. We had to put our MW fees on a credit card. Its more debt but its worth it. I would rather have debt than a free hospital birth with all my wishes/desires/wants granted.
