Swingtown - Page 6

I like the Susan-Roger storyline. I think its realistic. I don't think she is using swinging because she is no longer in love with Bruce...I think opening up their marriage is just making them examine their relationship more deeply which is resulting in examining their lives as a whole.

I like to think we are Tom and Trina We have had an open marriage for many years and at the end of last year we stopped playing with others to focus on the needs of our own relationship as we had some major stressors - which had nothing to do with our others. But dh isn't nearly as retro-staticly sexy as Tom and I only aspire to be as cool as Trina

Regarding the Susan/Laurie talk about relationships. She doesn't want Laurie to "settle" early on because she's feeling some regrets and feeling like she's lost her true self somewhere along the way.

I LOVED that old woman who Laurie hitched a ride with!

Ack! Was it on last night? I completely forgot about it!

Oh, thank goodness!

Did anyone see it on Friday? I saw the first 10 minutes, but ds is on a sleep-strike so I was unable to see the episode. Wondering how the pregnancy story line developed.

trina told janice and janice was so sweet about it, hasn't told tom yet.

i think next week is the last episode... summer is over :-)

i'm hoping they pickup the show to continue it - I love it! there were numerous references to school starting in 2 weeks so I hope we get two more episodes....

is it really going to end? that would suck.

I hope it continues, I love this show

eh, I am really disappointed in the direction it's been heading these last couple episodes. It's become so cliche and mainstream.

Me too, Ard. Even the Trina thing was so predicatable and silly. And I hate Bruce now, which I find annoying because the lovely thing at the outset was how much I really liked Bruce and Susan together and they have fallen apart so quickly that it feels really unrealistic.

And, yes, it does seem rather mainstream to start punishing the swingers, doesn't it? Sigh.

Swingtown

I have never missed an episode!!!! I hope it lasts on the air, but I just don't trust CBS right now. If they cancelled a excellent show like "Jericho", you' ll never know!

I liked the Trina and Janet exchange, but I thought Trina's exchange with Tom was pretty unrealistic, he didn't even give a hint that he would be upset with the news, so she just didn't tell him.
Susan overheard Bruce on the phone with the girl and then he left, but she didn't say anything to him? Would not happen in my house!
Also, Roger putting Susan's thoughts on the move so high above Janet's really ticked me off.
Lori's boyfriend is lame. I can't beleive he turned down the job so that he could continue to date her.

found this regarding possible pick up

The show, produced by the CBS Paramount Network Television studio, has had disappointing ratings in its first season on the CBS network this summer. But it has many fans within the company who want to see it return, whether on the broadcast network or somewhere else.

So the drama is now being shopped around to potential cable buyers in the event the network does not renew it for a second season.

I disagree, I felt that Tom's reaction was him hinting that he would be upset if she was pg.

She may feel guilt over her kiss with Roger. Maybe she didn't want a scene. Maybe she's waiting to figure out what she wants or what's best for her before confronting Bruce.

Janet doesn't know about the possible move yet though. IF Roger chooses to move I'm not sure if Janet would be okay with it, she's finding a piece of herself that she didn't know existed with her job. In the end I could see her being that doting wife & going even if it meant her being unhappy.

i wonder if they are moving it so quickly like that though because they weren't intending on making it into a continuing series ....
was last nite the season finale?
Yeah... and possibly the series finale.

it makes me sad that its ending on such deception.

it is a strange ending for susan and roger - i liked him so much in the begging and don't as all now and not liking susan all that much either at this point. susan being with roger is soooo much worse than bruce being with melinda because of janet - and how cute is janet now with her advice column?! and trina and tom will be great parents!!!
