poor mama. i really hope she finds a donor. i told dh about a week ago that if i ever died before ds was a year i would want him to find a donor. i think about bad things sometimes... aw that story makes me so sad. if your dh gave out her info it probably would be illegal but im not sure any action would be taken if by her if you reached out to her. that's a tough one. hopefully since she is a breastfeeding mama she will know to contact LLL as a starter. poor woman!

It's probably illegal for dh to give you her info....but he should be able to give your info to HER.

That is a very shitty situation though...I don't know how a credit from the company is going to help in regards to replacing bm though....unless they paid for the milk donation equal to the amount they ruined. But I highly doubt they would do that.

For those of you that caught the original post before I deleted it, nothing is going to be done. Apparently the company does not want to pursue anything with this woman even if it is for the best intentions. They do not want to get involved any further than trying to make up for the initial mistake for fear of being sued. And dh is very leery of trying to pass on my info to help out because his job could be in jeopardy if he does.

I wonder if she is getting the help she needs.

I am pretty sure he wouldn't do it. He is really concerned with privacy issues etc and very worried that he would somehow get in trouble. And he wasn't the manager who handled the case either. I really wish that he was the one that handled it because he is probably way more informed on this kind of situation simply because I am a die hard lactivist. Maybe this could have gone a different way.

Ugh.

Utility company guy accidentally unplugged a deep freezer full of frozen breastmilk that was for a baby who is completely intolerant of formula and whose mom just had a double mastectomy. I was trying to figure out a way to help without overstepping the boundaries of privacy/company politics. I can't elaborate any more.

I am in New England, Mass to be Specific I could donate to this Mama if you are able to connect with her.

That's HORRIBLE. I feel so, so bad for that baby. What if you wanted to donate milk? Can babies drink milk from mroe than one mom? Like if a bunch ofpeople each donated a little? I usually pump at work but I work for the school system and we'll be done this week, so I'd be pumping extra milk (since I can pump and bf at the same time). I wish I could help....
