I used quilted fabric from Joann's. Mine have a drawstring you can tie around the top. I got the pattern from "Cute Stuff" by Aranzi Aronzo. The pattern is meant for a single use plastic water bottle so I needed to add a 1/2 inch to the width and make it shorter to fit my SIGG.
I finally made one for my Kleen Kanteen. I used fabric on the inside and outside and quilt batting in the middle. I made a casing with bias tape around the top and ran elastic through it. For my son I used the same "Cars" fabric that I made his lunch bag, sandwich wrap, and snack bags out of. So everything matches. It's really cute. I don't know how to post pictures on here or I would.

I make my own sandwich wraps and snack bags. I like them much better than wrap-n-mats, because I don't really want my food sitting on plastic even though it is supposed to be food safe plastic. My bags have plastic in them (They are made out of PUL.) but they are then lined with hemp jersey so the food does not sit on the plastic. I love them and don't ever want to go back to using throw away plastic again.

Oooh I'd love to see pics. I've been thinking about finding a way to make something to wrap hubbies lunch in so we can break free from plastic completely.

I'm a little unnerved to find that KKs are made in China. That doesn't exactly inspire my confidence. I wouldn't consider a Sigg because it's aluminum. What if the inside coating wears/chips off?

Maybe I'll reconsider Camelbaks. I just wish they made them in a smaller size.

We have well water that tastes horrible. I have tried a PUR filter, but I can't verify that it's not made of BPA-leaching plastic.

Edited to add that the information I've been able to find on the internet indicates that PUR pitchers and dispensers are BPA-free. That's reassuring, but it doesn't solve the problem of how to pack water in my kids' lunches.

I don't know how to post pictures on here. There are pictures on my store sites, but I can't post them on here either. If you send me your email address I can send you pictures.

And Verity, some of us crafty moms do sell them.

I mainly drink out of glass. I don't like the metal taste. My husband bought a beer bottle that has a top that plugs up and has these metal parts that make the lid stay in place. I don't know what those are called. Those kind of lids are on mason jars sometimes. It's really nice for having water in. I used to use mason jars, but the lids would rust. We bought a water bottle holder with a strap so that it doesn't break if we drop it.

If you get one of the new colorful KKs and then decorate with some good quality stickers (like the kind meant for car windows), it could be super cute.
