Update 06-05 - Page 2

40w2d or so.

Hubby lost his keys last night. While replacing the water heater that was dying. : Talk about awesome timing.
I miss sleep and would give anything for a good toddler tranquilizer right about now.
Thinking maybe tonight... both other kiddos were 40w3d exactly, so if I go into labor at 3am, I'm good with that. Or I'll be the woman who dies from the toddler growing in her uterus where they'll have to cut the kid out after I'm dead. Either way.

Hmmm, let's see. Feeling pretty good today. My mom is coming over to help me straighten up the house. I'm almost caught up on laundry.

Having tons of BH. Especially yesterday, walking through Costco, I think I had one every ten steps. Last night I had a few painful ones.

Two days ago I was soooo ready to have this baby. I felt I couldn't possibly stay pregnant any longer. Yesterday and today, so far, I feel like I can wait 'til my EDD, and then some. Although, I certainly won't complain if I go into labor tonight.

I'm also on the brewer diet, plus taking alfalfa and drinking cornsilk tea.
Mine was getting up into 155/95 so I know how scary that is
I hope you can have your baby soon!! I'm only 37 weeks on Friday (well, based on my later EDD, my initial EDD is 6/19 which would put me at 38 weeks.....we aren't really sure which one is correct though because my wonky cycles from nursing so we stuck with 6/27), and its kinda scary to be worried about risking out if I don't have her soon! My entire pregnancy I've expected an "overdue" July baby, and now I'm pretty darn positive she'll be born in June if we can help it and that freaks me out a little!
Anyways, more to you! We can do this!
Yep, I already take magnesium. And in fact in the last week I've doubled the amount, it hasn't done anything. I started taking more folic acid in hopes that that will help.

37 weeks 6 days

Baby is in a weird position & it feels like he is on the left side of my pelvic bone. I was in a lot of discomfort last night. Today is better though. Just getting super antsy as I've done so much the last couple weeks, I feel like I'm running out of projects.

I do want to freeze some meals though, anyone have any great recipes?

Well, today is my EDD and I feel nothing. Even my ticker wants to make me feel bad. You know what it says?
Okay, Okay, I'll admit, I really liked it in my mommy, but I'm finally ready to go! I should be here by now! Great, thanks.

Trying not to care. At least Oregon MWs can go to 43 weeks. I went to see a friend yesterday who gets into making a psychic connection with babies. She said she senses it will be this Wednesday. That would be trippy if she is right! At least she kept telling me what great energy the baby has.

What kinds of things do you normally eat? Because you probably won't be groovin' on bizarre recipes post-partum there...

38 weeks and still sick. I pulled a muscle in my chest from all the coughing, I can't breathe, and my throat and nasal passages are on fire. The only good thing about the cold is that it has totally diverted my attention away from all pregnancy-related discomforts. Who cares about heartburn or a little lower back pain when you're dying from a killer headcold? At least I have a pretty good feeling that my baby will wait to make her appearance until the worst of this is over. She wouldn't make me go through labor feeling like this (we had a talk about it and she agreed to stay put for now).

I went and worked out this morning. It was the first time all week. Of course by work out, I mean I sat on the bike for 30 minutes and could barely push the pedals with my swollen feet/ankles. Then I hopped on over to the pool, which was pure heaven.

One of the women from my labor class just emailed me about her birth. She ended up with an emergency c-section. She is pretty depressed right now. I feel so bad for her and at the same time, I'm trying to block out any negative stories like this because I want to focus on positive births and having a positive birth experience.

Went to the midwives today - i opted for an exam - i'm 80% effaced and 2 cm...so that's 2 cm i don't have to labor thru

My ribs and my back are hurting. WHEW! I'm tired too.
But I got some pretty decent sleep last night.

Hey Everyone.... I just typed up a HUGE (even for me ) post replying to pretty much everybody that posted.... so, of course MDC ate it! Oh well. Sorry, but it's too hot and I'm too lazy to post it all again.

Highlights:
- Yeah for low BP! :
- Great Mantra, need to remember that!
- Love the labor chocolate idea!
- Prodomal labor really does suck. So sorry.
- Also, love the idea of any dilation being dilation you don't have to labor through... great way of looking at it.

Did I mention that it's frickin' hot??? Heat index is 104 and it's supposed to get hotter this weekend. No rain in sight to cool things off a little. I stood outside dd's preschool today (her last day, so there was a party, etc.) talking to a couple of the other moms about doing a summer playgroup, since several of us are going to different places this fall. I was out there a total of MAYBE 10 minutes and I thought I was going to pass out. I was so dizzy that when I got back to the car, I had to turn the AC on full blast (something I NEVER do) and drink two Klean Kanteens full of water before I felt like I could make the drive home. Ugh.

On the plus side, my doula/friend came over last night... we all sat down together and came up with some great ideas for the birth! Plus, she measured me and I'm measuring 42 cm. I always measure big and I usually deliver sometime around 44 cm, so maybe this babe will be a touch on the early side, which would be great with this heat. I'm 37 weeks today, so a week or a week and a half from now would be fine with me. Say, anytime after June 12.

Hope everyone is doing well....

Here, everyone is complaining about how cold it is. Yes, it's terribly unseasonably cold for June in Minnesota, but I'm lovin' it!! Seriously have nothing to complain about 60 degrees and raining (which it's doing right now). Although the kids are antsy and want to go to the beach!

I honestly have absolutely no idea how you can tolerate such high heats, pregnant or not! Although, people keep telling me how lucky I am not to be pregnant during the summer. To which I think, what's worse - pregnant in the summer or babywearing in the summer? I have to think babywearing is much worse!! I'm definitely looking forward to fall...

38w6d...

HEY! Thanks for the reassurance that me feet will indeed swell Kylahroo!!! At least I have made it this far. I am tellin' ya, people tried to stick toothpicks in my toes and eat them at 34 weeks last pregnancy!

Had a mw appt. today. Not much to report. MEasured at 40, baby is still in good postion, bp fine, pee fine, etc, etc.

Then we talked about kitchen renovations and flooring options!

It's stinking hot again today, but I am feeling good. Not expecting any action for a while, and that's ok. Having friends over on Saturday and the joke is that we are going to drum this baby out! Well, at least a lot of dancing may help babe drop a bit.

Sour-Jane- I love it that someone else's baby prep plans include hiding the "toys". :

My daily update:

Went to a weekly prenatal appointment; my nurse is off sick today so I got to wait 2 hours to see someone else :
I pre-registered at the hospy and then waited for the new nurse to give me the following info:
-Gained another few pounds, so I'm 154
-baby is still head down, though posterior (ROP, I think)
-measuring right on track
-GPS negative
-No gestational diabetes
-aside from the swelling in my pubic area, no signs of impending labor. Boo more waiting!

So all is well, and after two days of organizational shopping and packing with my dad, I'm thoroughly exhausted. I fell asleep again during hypnobabies and have been in bed all afternoon, wondering what the heck is wrong with me. I must have really overdone it 'cause I'm pooped!

I can't agree more with you Tanya! I had dd at the exact same time of year and I was miserable wearing her all summer long. Add to that the normal sweat profusion that happens everytime I would nurse her! i was a sweaty mess all the time. But, I am in Seattle, where it is a dry heat (only a teensy bit of humidity) so I probably have nothing to complain about compared to Minnesota.

That said, it is in the 50s here and raining. Pretty much everyone I know in Seattle is wondering a)where our spring went and b)if the one day of sun we had in May will be counted as our summer...yeesh!

I don't know for sure but how about 24 days out to EDD or something to the effect. feeling like that overly ripe watermelon really about to burst if it's not of the vine soon.
Was supposed to see MW today but she called to say her Dh was in a bad motorcycle accident and somehow got a staph infection from the hospital so went to surgery today. I hope he recovers well and quickly and started to talk with DH about what we might do if mw can't make it. . . I'm sure it will all work out just fine
