so about 2 months ago I had to transfer care from my MWs, whom I love, to my family doc, who I also love, because MWs lost their backup OB for VBACs. I was very sad about this, though I am confident that I will have a fabulous birth either way.

Anyway, I hadn't been in touch with former MWs since I transferred, but I got a phone message from one of them yesterday saying that they were thinking of me as my EDD arrived, wondering if I'd had the baby yet, and wondering how it all went. I thought that was really cool! (Of course, I called back and told her the baby was still cookin' )

Someone remind me to write them AND my family doc a BIG thank you letter for being so suppoirtive of my VBAC and birth wishes after I have the baby.

I will probably do the same....letter to my doc, not his nasty partner mind you. I hate him.

Any good ideas for doula gifts? I am paying her around $200 I think, we haven't discussed money yet...but I thought I might get her something too.

And Vanessa, you should make a thread about that! My doula is doing her certs and not charging. I have talked to her about it, and she was insistent she didn't even want gas money, but I am thinking a gift is a great idea!
