Rieslin Claire is Here!

I'd had ctx about every 3 minutes all afternoon. I ate, took a walk, showered and they continued. Around 8 I decided to give my MW another call and just let her know. We decided that her apprentice would come over and check me so we could see if anything was going on.

About an hour before she got here, they started to get a little uncomfortable and I called my MW back and she got on the road (she's 2.5 hours away doing the speed limit ).

Terri arrived and checked me around 10:30 and I was at 3. I decided to try and lay down. That lasted for about 30 minutes, I never slept just rested and then found that as they got stronger I was better able to handle them standing (which made for a very tired me later).

I stood in the living room kinda watching TV with Terri and Chris went to bed. Donna and Hannah arrived around 12 or so and hung out - it wasn't long 'til the ctx started getting painful. I came in my room and hung out on the toilet for a bit, just trying to let the ctx do their job (and I had to pee like every 5 minutes, LOL). Quickly, they increased in intensity so I woke Chris up and told Donna, "This isn't fun anymore, can I get in the tub?"

She checked me and I was at 5 so into the tub I went. I guess this was around 1 or so. The tub helped a lot. Chris cleaned up our room a bit and then hung out with me - I was moaning through them.

I don't know what time things happened after that - no clock in the bathroom. But I was really proud of myself, remembering to relax through the ctx, not fight against them - man, that's hard! LOL

Before long I wanted to be on my knees, but my tub isn't quite wide enough so my feet kept going to sleep, which was annoying to say the least. I started losing it a bit - obviously in transition. I remember saying that nothing was happening, why was it so hard, it wasn't this hard with Raeghan and it's supposed to be easier with each one! LOL I found myself pushing and Donna came in to check on me. She asked if I wanted her to check me, I did. She said I had a small lip - "You're 99.999% there!" I replied with expletives. She said that if I could stay on my back and breathe through a few ctx without pushing that she could probably move the lip and then we'd be good. So we did that for three torturous ctx and then it moved. She listened to the baby's hearttones and they dropped, a lot. I heard it and knew it was time to be done. Donna said, "With the next one you need to get her out." So I did. Literally. One ctx from crowning to completely out - LOL Donna made a comment afterwards about me not stopping and I said, "You said get her out, so I did."

She went straight onto my belly and laid there with us loving on her for 15 minutes while we waited for the placenta. She had her first BM in the water (Hannah said it was the cleanest birth she'd ever attended since it all stayed in the tub!) so, so far no mec dipes.

Ry cut the chord with a little help from Daddy and then we went to bed. She latched within the first hour, like a champ, and nursed for a good 2. Slept for about 8 hours and then went back to nursing.

Born June 3 (a day before her due date) at 3:56 am weighing 8lb and 20in long. 14in head, 14in chest, 13in abdomen.

We are SO in love with her.
