Scented rice sock-How to?

OK, so at my last birth my doula brought a scented rice sock and I loved it. So I want one for this birth. I can find out how to make a rice sock. Have sock, add rice! But the one thing I cannot figure out is how to add (or what kind) of scent to add. I have rosemary and mint in my garden, but no lavendar and nothing is dried. I might have some lavendar essential oil, but I am not sure. What should I do? How much should I add? Can I add my garden stuff? What have you done? Thansk for the help.

I got some dried herbs at my local herb shop. Whatever you think smells nice.

I put some jasmine tea and lavendar in mine.

That so brings back birthing memories! My doula made me a long tube of rice and lavendar with a seperate cover and I loved that thing during labor. Every contraction someone *had* to be pushing it against my back as hard as possible and I was so pissed when they had to go microwave it again!

I think I'll make another this time around so one can be microwaving while one is in use

DH made one for me before my last birth. He used jasmine rice and lavender essential oil. I think dried lavender would probably work better if you can get it, though.

I got tried lavender flowers from the local co-op. Whole Foods has them too.
