I like the template based options. Here's my favorite. That's how we built and continue to maintain this one.

I hope that helps!

Thanks Fiddlemama! I also checked out your blog. How did you get that one up and running? I am so new to this stuff.

The blog is just a free thing through blogger.com My friend Lucie made the header thing at the top of my page and I actually have no idea how she did it but it's cool! I hope that helps!

I just published my website www.customcontentcompany.com and I used Microsoft Expression Web to build it. The program is pretty easy to use, even if you are a beginner, and includes some nice templates. It is kinda pricy at about $250 but you can download it and try it for free from Microsoft's website. I almost went with this online website builder, it is increadibly easy to use but a little more expensive per month than building the site yourself and getting a host like godaddy plus it is more limited than designing a site yourself.

I have progamming background and built my wedding website 8 years my hand coding. After that I got MS Frontpage and built a website for my baby. So, I was able to build my website using a template. I just modified the template to look the way I wanted it to look. My web host has shopping cart built into it. So, all I needed to do was organize my overall look of the website.

I also got Adobe CS3 to help with photos, flash etc.

I just created my website a few weeks ago with no previous experience. I used Yahoo and pay only about 30 per month. They make it really easy and they have 24/7 customer service who are very helpful! www.hipmountainmama.com
Good Luck!!

I'm a big fan of wordpress.

I host with Dreamhost and it's included as part of my hosting package. This way I get my own domain name and a configurable bit of web publishing software. My business site is done with wordpress (in my siggy) as is my family blog (http://twinkies.bastetweb.com) as is my husband's tech blog (http://tech.bastetweb.com) so you can see that the same software can do very different looks.

I just checked the info out on this and it looks great. I am building a website for my husband's biz but a friend of mine said he didn't recommend Yahoo because they were really hard to get help from. I don't really know what his situation was but I think we're gonna go for it. Thanks!

Both of my sites (one selling, one writings) are wordpress. I may be adding one more. I have changed alot of things over the years and having a simple, free site is what works for me. I have thought of combining all three areas to one site, still not sure yet on that.

Thanks for the recommendations on this site to compare.

Zadee, I love your business site. I am new to all of this, is there a specific template you are using?
