Baby has officially dropped!

As this has never happened for me prior to labor, I'm quite excited! It explains why I've had a larger appetite the last week, am waddling more and cannot walk far w/o back pain. Measuring 39cm - down 2cm from last week. Uterus is a good 1-2" from my ribcage (was jammed right up in there). Baby's head is settled in my pelvis and no longer bounces around. Still has a little hand right up by its face. I hope baby moves it during labor as I don't relish pushing out a head with a hand connected to it!!

We're hoping sometime in the next 7-10 days we'll meet this little one. My MW doesn't even blink until mom has reached 42 weeks which is reassuring.

That's great! It must feel good--I know I'm looking forward to breathing again ;-)

You and your midwives must have magic fingers to be able to recognize that hand. I had to go in for an u/s because 4 professionals couldn't tell if that was a butt or a head facing up!

Wonderful news!

Woohoo!! That must be a wonderful relief!!

I cannot wait to see your "It's a ......" post! Plus all the pics of the new babe in all those adorable little things you've knitted.

I swear, there are mamas on this board that I sometimes think I'm more excited for than I am for myself sometimes!

YAY!!

I wish I had written down when I dropped... I thought they said it only happened to first time moms!!

LOW belly rubs to you mama...hope you don't have pelvic-head grinding like me...

That's crazy! My MW even palpated a shoulder. It's very mysterious.

Now, I'll say all of this and find out we have a surprise breech baby and what we've thought was the head all along was actually a butt!

Isn't it great?! I have always been really late and dropped for awhile, so I remember how nice it was to get my appetite back! Congrats.

How exciting! My dd came out with her hand first. It was hard work to push but it still only took about 20 minutes. I remember the doctor saying, "Here's something....oh not a head but someone's waving at me!" Maybe your babe will be a thumb sucker. I always thought that would be really cute.

I've actually wondered the same thing! None of my kids have been. I just bought a couple of nuks today, too. We'll see soon!

Sounds as though everything's getting all lined up. Hope you stay comfortable (as much as possible) 'till your little one arrives. I'm sure being able to take a fuller breath and eat a regular meal must be a pleasure! I know I'm looking forward to both.
