It doesn't matter what I eat- I've eaten very healthy this pregnancy a ton of fresh fruits, nuts, etc and still gain at the same rate regardless of diet/exercise/etc. When I'm nursing I have to eat about twice what I do now and still lose 1-3 lbs/wk for the first year. My MW said I need to gain at least 40 (bless the MW b/c last 2 times was an argument over my weight gain). Anyone else a big gainer?
I could have written this exact post. I gain 60-86 per pg and am not skinny to begin with. I really DO my best and have run through entire pregnancies with the same weight gain.

one of my pgs lasted 11 weeks...I gained 20lbs.

it's harder to loose with age, and I have to say it doen't fly off of me afterward (I workout very hard for each oz lost) except with one.

I am also 29 weeks and have gained about 40 pounds. I started off underweight though. I only gained 35 with DD, but was about 25 pounds heavier to begin with that pregnancy. I just eat like a normal human being, and as long as I feel healthy and my weight gain is fairly steady I don't worry much about it. Last time I lost all my baby weight within a week (and another 40 over the next few months), so it's not stubborn weight or anything, and I definitely don't look fat by any means.

50+ with my first, 30 with my second. In both cases I've been back to my pre-preg weight by their first bday without changing diet/exercise habits. I think I gained less with dd2 because I was nursing dd1, and I'm sure my weight loss this time was faster due to tandem nursing.

I think as long as you're eating healthy foods to hunger then whatever you gain is fine.

I gained 65 with my first and only about 22 with this one. With my first, I lost all the weight through nursing, even though I was eating whatever I wanted, by the time the was about 9 mo. (Then I got myself knocked up again ) I guess every baby and pregnancy is different!

I gained 52 with my first. Ate whatever I wanted and didn't exercise at all. Went from a size 12 to an 18.

I gained 45 with my second. Was off sugar for 30 weeks and exercised moderately/heavily. Went from a size 8 to a 16.

I gained 55 with my third. Was off sugar for 25 weeks and didn't exercise much. Went from a size 8 to an 18.

I gained 57 with my fourth. Was not off sugar as long and exercised a little more than with my third pregnancy. Went from a size 10 to a 20.

Baby is 8 months old as of yesterday, and I have lost all 57 pounds without anything but breastfeeding and chasing children to credit for it.

I have 25 pounds to lose from my 3rd pregnancy, though, to get to my ideal size. I was a size 20 post partum and am now a 12, shooting for an 8 again.

There are days that I joke that I want to go vegan for my next pregnancy. I swear that I could eat nothing but healthy food and gain at least 40 pounds. SOmething about my metabolsim just shuts down. Seriously.. my first tri with my 3rd child, I was eating buttered toast and tea for breakfast, soup for lunch, soup for dinner. Eating more or differently made me feel like I had overeaten at a potluck dinner.

I gained 15 pounds in my first tri while eating about 600-800 calories a day. How is that even possible??
