June IUIs - Page 5

DLT- don't give up hope on an unmedicated cycle. I have a friend here who did unmedicated ones and got pregnant- it can happen!

AAM- Went back to the RE today for another ultrasound. Estrogen patches seem to be doing their job, I went from a 5 to a 7.5 in my lining. I've got two good follicules on the right- a 22 and a 17, but nothing on the left. Guess it decided to take the month off... We did the trigger and we'll be in bright and early at 7am for the IUI tomorrow. Nothing like getting up that early on a saturday!

Hi girls...doing a bit better this morning. Had a temp drop and now I'm just waiting for AF. Blah!

Got some AMAZING news last night as I was researching my IF insurance benefits...as of January 1, 2008 ALL infertility treatment is covered. I can't even believe it. : Why did my RE's office not know about this? So, I'm going to be reimbursed close to $5000 once I finish sending in all the claim forms.

Even better news: unlimited IVFs (and IUIs, including medications) are covered if we need to go down that route.

Oh, I am absolutely THRILLED. It's about flipping time insurance companies covered infertility!

BBL for personals.

LiamsMommy31905- that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!: You are so lucky!! I totally hear you about insurance companies should pay for IF!!!! It is a medical condition just like any other medical condition and if we all stop multiplying than they will be out of money b/c they won't have anyone to insure or continue to pay their outrageous premiums . Don't they think about these things????

I'm not giving up hope, but I really don't want to get my hopes too high either. I'm sure once the IUI is done I'll be biting my nails and tidying the house again during the 2WW, but at the moment, I'm trying to be rational - WHATEVER!!!!

LiamsMommy31905 - that is wonderful news for you. Less stress on finances and more concentration on the BFP! We're lucky here in Australia, as we can claim 80% back from Medicare (goverment medical aid).

Had my blood test yesterday and my levels are still quite low which is ok. Going back tomorrow for another one, and then will probaby have an u/s early in the week.

How's everyone else doing?

so my temp dropped a lot today and I've been feeling PMSy and crampy.

I'm expecting AF today or tomorrow.

We decided to take July off. Then the HSG and other workup in August, maybe 1-2 more IUIs but if those aren't working, we'll have to do IVF. I don't understand why we're not getting pregnant. I am ovulating, DH has low counts but we're getting great numbers for the IUIs (40-50 mil per IUI). This should be working! ARGHHH.

We also calculated the cost of insurance premiums for the year, and it's probably going to cost us a lot more than the HSG would have... it's so expensive. I guess we're going to get it anyway, in case they have to do a bunch more testing, maybe biopsies? I don't know how much that stuff costs.

I'm feeling pretty low... and it just sucks to have to make so many of these decisions about what to do based on money.

I'm out. AF showed up. I'm getting really good at observing my PMS symptoms... I can always tell when she's coming. I have the worst cramps.

Biomama - Crap!!!!! Stupid AF why can't she just stay away!!!!!! She is like an unwanted house guest that shows up unanounced and sucks life out of you!!! Good luck with your month off. I have tried to say we are taking months off, but it is hard when it is in your system and you have been trying so long. Good luck!!

Well, I spoke too soon about the month off. Now that AF is here, we're not so sure we want to...

now we're planning this cycle for IUIs (after the HSG, if my tubes aren't blocked). then if that fails IVF in August. DH has time off then, so it'd be ideal timing wise. I'm not sure if you can do IVF coming off a TTC cycle... I'll probably have to ask the IVF thread. I'm going to see my RE on Monday or Tuesday, so I can get more details then.

At least this week will be super busy with all the insurance crap, diagnostics, appointment scheduling, etc.

Should I start a July IUI thread? How is everyone doing?

hugs all around.

I would be all for a July thread. I was actually just thinking about that earlier.
And I'm sorry Biomama that is wasn't this month. More vibes toward you for July.

My IUI is tentatively scheduled for around July 18th. This will be my first try, so I'm hoping. And I'm single, so I was thinking about getting a maternity t-shirt I saw on line that said "My Doctor Knocked Me Up".

But then again, I have a very weird sense of humor.

biomama So sorry to hear AF arrived for you.

I'm glad you've decided not to take a month off. Here's hoping July IT IS!!

It would be great if you could start a July Thread. I'm sure there will be a few of us there.

Angi GL for your first IUI. Here's hoping it's the first and last one for you! The t-shirt is funny

I went in this morning for more blood tests to see if my levels are rising and I'll know this avo. I'm still a bit concerned as I had the HSG - actually it's called a HyCoSy here - on Wednesday, and I'm still bleeding. My RE said it's normal for some people to have nothing and others to bleed. So I really hope it goes by tomorrow.

Bio - Sorry to hear AF showed. I'm CD 1 and crampy as all get out as well. I know exactly how you feel about the money situation...I was completely panicking when I found out this last IUI didn't work. It cost us $1000 out of pocket. I was doing research to determine how much an HSG would cost us and found out complteley serendipitously that everything was covered (including what we'd already paid for.) Are you completely positive that your policy doesn't cover IF?

I'm having an HSG next month so hopefully they'll let me do the Clomid/IUI in conjunction with the HSG. I'll know on Monday. In that case, I'd definitely be on board with the July IUI thread!

Angi - I LOVE the t-shirt idea. I would love to get one of those too (considering my male RE is incredibly attractive!)

East - Awesome news about the estrogen patches! I wish they would make progesterone patches so that I wouldn't have to do those nasty, goopy suppositories after ovulation.

DLT - : for being back in the game!

Blue - how are you doing?

AF showed up around 3 pm...I haven't had cramps this bad in a LONG time. I'm wondering if it had something to do with the IUI. Ow. So...CD 1 today.

LiamsMommy31905- sorry to hear that AF showed up! I'm telling you, she is just like an unwanted house guest but she follows us everywhere we go. Good luck with the HSG next month. I'll be seeing you in the july IUI area if your dr says yes to doing an IUI after your HSG. I'm doing okay, but for some reason I supposedly ovulated early this month CD 12 so now i'm all out of wack. I'm suppose to have my progesterone check this month too for the first time so now i'll have to figure that one out - when i need to get it done after Oing so early. I always feel kinda like crap after I O, it is such a pain. I'm also still trying to figure out if I'm going to take the 50mg or the 100mg of clomid.... decision, decisions!!!!!

Angi- I also love the t-shirt idea!!!! haha

DLT - sorry to hear you are still bleeding from the HSG. When you had your blood work check which levels were they checking on you??

blueyezz4 - they check some hormone level (can't remember which one) which increases as the follicles grow and as I get closer to ovulating. My levels are still low, so I'm going back on Wednesday for another test - I think by then they'd have gone up a lot.

LiamsMommy31905 - my AF was really bad too and I definitely think it's got to do with the IUI. Hang in there.

DH and I had two, 1 year old birthday parties yesterday afternoon. It was honestly the hardest thing I've done in a long time. EVERYONE there either had a baby, or had a baby and was pregnant with #2. We lasted half an hour and I'm still feeling depressed about it. I really didn't think I would get to feeling like this.
