Anyone else step on the scale yet?

I weighed myself after I got home from the hospital, then again on Monday and again yesterday. Eventhough I am not dieting or watching what I eat closely, I wanted the numbers. Surprisingly I am down almost 27 pounds since having Delaney. 10 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I am shocked because I had a hard time with Gabrielle (but that was probably stress eating from her diagnosis and surgeries).

Bodywise, not a pretty picture. But I was able to wear a pair of pre-pregnancy shorts yesterday.

Anyone else had the courage to step on the scale?

Yeah and I wish I hadn't!

I had lost 20 out of the 40 pounds I gained by day 5 postpartum... and I haven't lost a single pound more since (at 4 weeks old!). Sigh. I know I should just put the thing away and weigh myself in a few months but I thought for sure I'd be losing more quickly this time, considering I've got two that are nursing constantly.

Congrats on being so close to your pre-pregnancy weight though!

Alyssa,

That sounds like with my son. I lost 29 pounds immediately (I had pre-eclempsia) and then nothing really for 4 months. Like my hormones were out of whack and finally straightened themselves out. I then lost 72 pounds total. But got pregnant with my daughter before I reached goal.

Wednesday I had lost 31 of the 39 I gained, but I'm nursing twins so I assume it will continue to drop off. You guys just don't know how hungry I am. Last night I had two HUGE helpings of spaghetti and like 5 meatballs for dinner. Plus bread. And now it's breakfast time and I'm STARVING again! Well, and the first 20 pounds was baby/fluid/placenta and the second 5 was fluid for sure.

yep! down 25lb so far.

30 lbs, though I stopped weighing myself at the very end. Still 20 lbs over prepg weight, and 40 lbs over pre-kids weight/goal. Trying not to gorge myself.

7 lbs over pre preg when I weighed myself 2 weeks ago. We don't own a scale so I haven't weighed since. I'm sure it'll cling on though.

I weighed myself at 1 week after delivery. I was shocked to see I was just 1 pound over where I started! I knew that the sudden last 10-15 pounds I gained was water! I've been peeing and sweating up a storm this week.

No way. I don't attempt my regular clothes or step on the scale until I've had my 6 week postpartum checkup with my doctor.

I'm down about 35 from my weight at 37 weeks (last time I was weighed), but I've been steady at that weight for like 3 weeks now. I'm 15 pounds over pre-preg weight. Exact same thing happened with DS1...I lose 35 pounds of baby and water almost immediately (I'm a sweller) and then plateau. The goal is to start trying to lose (I didn't do that last time until I'd already gained back weight!) at about 6 weeks...I guess that means I have one more weekend to eat whatever I want. I'd better get baking!! LOL!

I've been on the scale every day. I am too into numbers to let it slip by (for example, God forbid I not have numbers to compare to next time! Kidding, of course!). I'm down about 25-30 lbs...but I gained like 45, so I still have plenty to go. That said, I can fit into my pre-pg clothes but I just have lovely saddle bags hanging over every pair of bottoms...maternity included.

Last I checked was 1.5wks pp and I was 13 lbs from pre-preg, 18 from ideal.
With DS1 I lost a lb for every lb he gained and ended up at 20lbs lower than pre-preg weight when he was 8 months old (and when I got preg again ) so I'm hoping for something similar this time around!

I am down 20 lbs, and have 10 more to go to reach pre-preggy weight. Since I was a little bit overweight before the pregnancy I am hoping to loose even more.
I've lost 25 of the 30 lbs I gained (lost 15 from the birth), as of a couple days ago. I'm nowhere near fitting in my pre-preg clothes, but I'm waiting a few more weeks before I start working out at all, so I'm not concerned with it or now.

Yea, I have. I don't know exact numbers, as I didn't weigh myself a whole lot but last I checked preggo I was 146, on sunday I was 125. 5 lbs what I was pre-preggo. All of my clothes fit again, but my hips are keeping pants a bit snug,

Don't hit me, but I really hope I don't lose anymore!

Yup. I stepped on the scale a while back. Then I stepped off, sat down on the toilet, and cried for a while.

Sure, I've lost 35 pounds (most of it practically immediate... I TOLD you guys I was gaining some ridiculous water), but I still have a good 30 to go before I feel good about myself. It's gonna be a long road. Right now, i've put the scale away and am just focusing on eating healthy and taking DS and the dog for daily walks.

About the same as me! That's a long term goal, though - I think for next pregnancy I am going to split it almost down the middle and aim to lose like 35that'll put me at about the weight I was before getting pregnant with the first kiddo. I have to balance between the weight thing and the "advanced maternal age" thing,

Ive lost 22 pounds, still 4 pounds from pre preg. BUT 21 pounds from pre kids.

I have 10 year HS reunion in sept that i am aiming to look good at.

Im planning on starting weight watchers at 6 weeks. I did this last year and lost on average 2 pounds a week...

Even though i knew it was coming, the saggy stomach really depresses me
