Feeling a little more optimistic today. Didn't have any prodromal labor yesterday/last night thank goodness. I had a nice chat with my doula who really lifted my spirits.

We have to take the car to the shop and ds's dad is picking him up for the weekend at 6pm. It would be nice if it was sometime this weekend......

too hot here to have a baby! 30 degrees and super humid. did some gardening this morning

glad you're getting a break from the prodromal labor, vanessa - mine isn't too bad either - even slept well last night.

i just need my a/c fixed before i attempt a homebirth!

I don't know what the heck was going on with me last night.
I was in PAIN from 2am to around 4:30am. I don't think it was
contractions....at least it didn't feel that way. My BONES felt like
they were being ripped open! And I felt like a really horrible pressure
feeling down in my pubic bone. I don't even know how to explain
the weirdness that was going on, but I thought I was going to DIE
it was hurting so bad. I could barely walk to the bathroom.
I wonder if she had turned or something???
I have not felt this type of pain yet! UGH!

I'm having horrible rib and pelvic pain. I went to yoga last night, which usually helps, but I feel exactly the same today. Thankfully, dd has been happily entertaining herself most of the morning. I'm going to have to start paying attention to her soon though. I just don't feel like I have the energy. I'm exactly 37 weeks today, but I don't think I can handle another 3+ weeks of this!

That's my vent for the day, now for only happy, positive thoughts the rest of the day. DH started a new job today (more $$ and less stress!) and I officially applied for maternity leave yesterday!

Thanks for reminding me to prep the air conditioner, MamaJava! It's supposed to be 30 degrees here this weekend and I don't want to labour in that humidity.

I get such heaviness and cramps in the afternoon while standing, last evening i just resisted the urge to sit down through them. i figure i might hold something up...but this am I feel nothing and the babe is soooquiet. its unnerving. done with work till aug 09 so thats good. im finding myself envious of the homebirthers. i have yet to pack a bag and it seems now silly to get in the car and leave cozy home for the birth center. but i gues i have to stick to my origional plan.

Have a MW apt today, I'm waiting for my DD to wake up so I can take a shower. Would you believe that the day I'm getting an internal exam I wake up with a yeast infection How embaressing!!
My BP is staying down, last night before bed it was 119/78! wow! This morning its 125/79 but hey, I'll take that too! I think I'll still let her stir things up a little in the exam though, I really sat down and thought on it last night and I talked to some moms in my API group who have had her as a MW or had friends who had her as a MW, and she is not the type to just rush things for the sake of rushing them. If I wasn't having a problem we'd all be perfectly content going 42 weeks and beyond if need be just as we are, but I don't think we have the time to wait around, even if it is back down again for now. I'm feeling like the longer I'm pregnant the harder its going to get to keep the BP down. So, no induction per se, herbal or not, but I'm ok with an internal exam and a sweep to gently nudge this baby girl along!
I need to pick up some more chux pads today and a heating pad from my dads house and then my birth kit is complete! I meant to do that all last week but I was so depressed over maybe risking out I just put it off....

I wish my kid would wake up, our clothes are all picked out and stuff, just waiting to get in the shower but I know if I go in now she'll wake up and freak out about waking up alone....

It was hot last night so we put DS to bed in a t-shirt and a diaper. He came running into our room at 7:00 this morning (which is actually great that he slept that late!) with just a t-shirt on. Eep! (Maybe we need to invest in some summer PJs after all... I was hoping we could get away with just a t-shirt).

He had pulled his diaper off in the middle of the night and managed to pee all over his bed and pillow (he sleeps kind of sideways). Sheets and mattress pad are in the wash. Not sure what to do about the pillow. Can you wash a down pillow or does it need to be dry cleaned??

Today is my last day of work. I'm really glad, but it does feel a little weird. I wish people would stop asking me when I'm coming back. I won't be, but I'm not going to tell them that. Even if I were planning to return, nobody knows when this baby will be born and so I can only make guesses anyway.

I got up just before 3 am to go pee, and then I could not sleep again for at least an hour. So I am way more tired than usual today.

Otherwise, I feel basically the same as I have for the past week or so.

Oh boy.....I've never washed mine. I'd probably just go buy another one.
It isn't brand new is it?

Haha no it's actually our oldest one - I gave it to him because it was sort of flat and worn-out and it seemed like a "fluffy" pillow would be too much for him since he's so small.

Yeah I think I'll try throwing it in the wash and if it comes out badly I'll buy a new one.

We have our final prenatal meeting with our doula today. After that, there's absolutely nothing else to get done except pack my hospital bag, and I might even get that done before she gets here. So any time, baby!

38 weeks today! Woohoo!

MW appointment yesterday and all was well. My BP is down from last time and both she and I were happy!
The midwife I saw yesterday is so sweet and caring - I love her (and am really hoping she's on call when it's time to have the babe)!

Lots of cramping, a bit of back pain and a ton of BM's last night (cramping for a few days now, actually, with some pretty bad ones right now...). Kind of exciting - except for the fact that DH is leaving tonight and won't be back until at least tomorrow night or Sunday morning. He'll be less than 2 hours north taking care of some family stuff - but I'd really hate for something to happen while he's gone and it's just me and DS (who's 2).
My water broke first last time - so I'm not sure what labor starting naturally would actually be like.... I guess I'll just take it as easy as possible while he's away and hope that babe doesn't decide it wants to cause a commotion and come while we're all scattered!

Super hot and muggy here - and supposed to be like that for days. Making things even more miserable.... :

I'm feeling okay physically today, but mentally I'm in such a bad mood. DH is never around. We knew this was going to happen once he started this phase of flight school. It just sucks. I'll just be so happy when he is done with this phase.

I had a kinda of exciting night... so glad my walk made it clear before I got my doula and babysitter too excited!!

I'm also feeling a little unnerved about a quiet baby... I woke up worried, but he's already had hiccups so I feel better.

I'm going to wash baby clothes today...and I reallly need to focus on packing my bag! :P

Oh and, Kltroy... I wash EVERYthing in the washer... your pillow should be fine, stick it in the dryer with a towel or another pillow to balance it out...it might come out lumpy but still useable!

39 weeks...

well, I lost some of my mucous plug last night and a little more this am. Other than some pretty strong occasional bh's, I can't say there's anything else going on. Seeing the mucous was an exciting moment though, even though I know it could be another week or more before labor starts. At least I know my cervix is changing.

Went to the chiro today and had a major adjustment in the sacral area....ouch! Loose lucy here! But it actually feels better now than it did when I went in this morning. DP has been having to help me maneuver getting into/out of bed! I will be happy to say goodbye to that pregnancy discomfort!!

Feeling like I should probably do some laundry or scrubbing of some sort, but I am way too lazy! A nap sounds like more fun! Plus I don't wanna mess up my aligned pelvis!!

I wash ours in Sportwash...it seems to work fine. I throw them in the dryer on low heat with clean tennis balls (or down fluffers from Lands' End) to fluff them up through the drying process.

Sorry to jump into the due date club without introduction, etc. I'll be posting later today with intro and frustrating mw visit. I've been lurking, but didn't want to get addicted to the group like I have in the past.

40w3d. I think.

Had some pretty painful contractions from 2-3am, but they petered out when I was laying down. Figured if I went to sleep, it wasn't labor. Guess I was right. No idea what the baby's waiting for. I just have some packages that need mailed and a few diapers I still need to repair elastic on, but nothing huge. Still can't plant the rest of the garden because of the weather.

I kinda wanted kiddo to come when my midwife's on call rather than her fill-in who I've only met a few times who lives farther away, but c'est la vie. We'll see if we end up with a UC or something. I just really wanted to labor on that birthing ball to see if that helps at all. *sigh*
