Hi Im new to this, but Im due June 15th and wondering what a mucus plug looks like? Im not sure if I passed it or not - and Im not sure you want to know what I passed LOOKED like

Also, in the past 2 days I have had some menstrual like cramps, sharp pains down my leg, feelings like I had to have a bowel movement, and a very hard time sleeping even though Im dead tired. My midwife told me I was dilated 1cm last monday, not effaced, but a very soft cervix. And when she felt his head she mentioned that it was very close (she didnt have to stretch to reach it).

I want my little guy to come finally! I know you are all in the same boat as me. I hate not knowing when he is going to come!

Oh and the other question I have... does a contraction make your entire stomach hard or could it just be part of your stomach? At times, my stomach becomes hard, but only in the middle like there is a ball being pushed against it. The top of my stomach stays fairly loose. It is not painful.

This is all jme. Mucus plug looks like a big glob of snot. LOTS of snot. Could be clear, white, yellow, I've heard greenish. For me, it wasn't like an increase in discharge. It was serious globs of snot.

What you are feeling down below is probably the baby settling in or dropping. I get shooting pains on the inside of my legs which I always take as a good sign - the baby is getting lower!

As for the contractions - I really don't consider it a contraction unless my whole belly tightens up. I also find that it feels harder in the area where the baby is. You are probably feeling that hardness in the middle b/c the baby is lying vertically. I remember looking in the mirrow when I had dd1 during a contraction and my belly was in the shape of a football. It was so weird.

Hahaha that's a good way to describe it... we all know what snot looks like LOL! Does it look clear or could it sometimes be not transparent at all?

Thanks

My mucus plug with ds looked like a big brown booger.
If your tightening isn't painful its either baby readjusting or a braxton hicks.

BTW I am due June 15th too!

Isn't it great to be due on Father's day? Now, hopefully he COMES on Father's day - or before if we are lucky! I'm starting to see EVERYTHING as a sign that labor could start. It's depressing. Maybe I should just ignore all these "symptoms" for a while - lol!:

My mucus plug last time (never lost it before labor the other two times) was clear-ish strings of it for a few days and then the day of labor it was clear-ish but with some blood in it. I never did get a big glob.

Yeah, I think there are so many variations to this pregnancy stuff. The first time I lost it over a few days time in globs of snot. Still took days to have the kid. Then next time about an hr. before birthing, I sat on the toilet wiping and wiping and wiping the mucus. The third time I never saw my plug. I'm told I left it in the tub which would have been right before pushing.

It's hard but it probably is wise to ignore signs for the most part (says she who studies the toilet paper every time she goes to pee). I still have stuff to do so I need to hold out a little while longer.

yes, it could not be transparent at all...I have been losing mine for a couple days now and it is not transparent and VERY different from any other type of mucous I would ever "normally" have...much thicker and, well gelatinous I would say. Soooo......do you think after all the lovely descriptions that you may be losing yours? Even though I know it is not a sign that labor is going to happen tomorrow, it IS a sign that your bod is doing something!

That is exactly what I had. I started to cry with joy when after a week, I finally saw the blood tinge in it. (I was at 42 weeks) then contractions started about 2 hours later.
