I posted in another thread about the problems I am having with yeast infections this last year and a half or so. I have used the Diva cup (previously the Keeper) for the last several years (that I have had AF anyway, LOL, she left for a long time with pregnancy and tandem nursing!). I do not have discomfort inserting it, but lately at times have to work at it a bit to get it to unfold. So, I am not stopping its useage because of leaking or anything. I have tried EVERYTHING, candida cleanses, diet changes, have purchased a new cup and cloth pads even, as well as have been taking Diflucan the week of my period. I am hoping it is not from the cup.
My doc feels that I should not use any type of internal protection at all and she feels that it would be more "cleansing" and beneficial for my flora to flow onto a pad rather than have it held in by the cup or tampons, and I am so desperate I am ready to believe her. I am going to purchase more heavy duty protection but am wondering how a cloth pad feels. I have a Lunapads minipad, some Sweet cheeks pads (the moonlight...minipad equivalent) http://www.newmoonpads.com and mostly pantiliners. I usually use my pads until my flow gets heavy, so am not used to bleeding lots onto a pad.
One thing from my disposable pad days (way back in early teenagehood) I hated was that feeling of "flooding" when I stood up and such, fearing a leak, etc. That is why I am hesitant to use pads only, just remembering that squicky feeling! OR, are pads good and absorbant, and OK if anyone wears good snug underwear or something? (My Sweet Cheeks pads conform to my shape really well actually).
Anyone have any feedback? It has been so long since I have used exclusively pads, but I am willing to try anything at this point!
