It seems these are more popular outside the U.S. and that Tetra-pak is a brand name.
I am not fond of juice boxes or pouches, but it is mostly because I find them wasteful and would rather just pour from a glass jar into a glass for home. I send DD to school with water, not juice. In fact, juice is not real common in our house anyway.
From a health perspective, I'd rather we eat fresh fruit in order to get all the nutrients and the fiber. I make fruit smoothies from the fresh fruit for a liquid that is fresh and healthy (still has most nutrients). I use our Vitamix, which allows for more of the fruit to be used anyway (an entire apple or pear, for example). DD loves these in her stainless steel thermos as a treat at school. We have them at home more often and I freeze the leftovers for popsicles, which are very tasty.
I guess we don't buy many other items packaged like this, so I don't really have anything else to say.
Well, I guess certain milk containers are in the coated paper boxes. Or we get the version in the plastic jugs. I don't actually care much for milk regardless of how it is packaged. I just find it odd that we humans give our young milk from cows whereas other species give their young milk from their own species. Breastfeeding is more common now, but I shudder at all the concoctions my mother and grandmother and DH's mom tell me about.

In any case, I prefer the plastic half-gallon jugs over the paper cartons, but it is simply because DD can pour it herself and because we can easily see how much is left. We go through it slowly since we only use it for cereal and cooking/baking. I have yet to find milk in glass bottles, but I would MUCH prefer that!
