As you know I had a GD with insulin dependence so I was scheduled for induction on June 3rd. We went to the hospital in the evening and I got a Cervidil patch. An hour after it had been put in I started having powerful and non stop contractions and I back labor was quite intense. We did not know that the son turned face up the very last moment, so he was pushing onto the pelvic nerves. I had 2 shots of Stadol to get at least some relief but they worked for an hour if that. At 4 am my water broke with 1 cm dilation. Kid moved even further down into my pelvis and labor pain shifted from my lower back down to my legs. It was unbearable, the nurse puller Cervidil patch out but it did not soften up contractions, I had them non-stop and they were quite powerful. At 6 am my ob-gyn ordered to give me epidural with 2 hr dose so they can monitor my dilation. Well epidural not only gave relief but also relaxed me so cervix dilated up to 4cm. Next was Pitocin. I started with the lowest dose possible, contraction were good, I continued dilating but with every contraction the kid was loosing his heartbeat. We tried to change position to make baby turn, but he could not do it. So doctor offered to wait for 2 hours and monitor contractions/heartbeat or have a C-section. I could not torture my baby anymore so I decided to have a c-cestion. Erik was born an hour later. He was 7lbs. 6 oz and 20.5 inches long. We are so happy to have him with us. http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/6...onjune6gt5.jpg
Welcome little Erik :)
