Toddler teeth

My son is 18 months and only has his eight front teeth. However I have been able to feel his canine and molars for a long time, at least a couple of months just under the gums. His bottom front teeth have always been a little crooked but now they are even more crooked as if they are being crowded. His whole month is swollen and inflamed and I swear it takes 2 months or longer just for his teeth to poke through. Is this normal or should I be concerned? I think when the teeth come through he may get almost all of them at once. I can't imagine the discomfort because he wakes up all though the night from it, every night.

It sounds like your ds' dental arch is not developing ideally. Consider adopting a traditional diet and supplementing with vitamins D and A in the form of cod liver oil.

Thanks, but we are already WAPers and have been doing all this since prenatally.

My kids have always had a brutal time teething as well . I've never found any info on why some kids have a harder time.

My dd will be 3 in a month - and she's just getting in her molars now. We are also WAPF's. Some kids just get teeth later rather than earlier. Some spread out, some all at once. I'd only be concerned about the crookedness, not the timing.
