Small/lightweight upright vacuum?

We recently ripped up our wall to wall carpet and installed bamboo and now I am searching for the perfect vacuum. Our old upright is too big/bulky/clunky and I don't like canisters. I'm not much for sweeping, either.

I was considering a roomba, but although it would be great to run at night I need something that I can use multiple times per day for quick clean ups.

Can anyone recommend the perfect petite yet powerful vacuum for frequent clean ups on wood (okay, grass ) floors?

Thanks!

Did you consider a Swiffer? I like mine a lot for the wooden and tiled areas. And you can make your own reusable cloths for it.

I have a swiffer stick that I use with microfiber towels! I use it in place of a mop when the dirt is off the floor already or for a quick jaunt around the bathroom if there's only a little dust/hair/whatever on the floor.
