Hello to everyone here! I am a 25 year old mother of two, and I am trying my absolute best to be a natural mother and make my children as strong and as healthy as they can possibly be. My 4 year old daughter went to the pedi for the first time in almost a year this past week. She had a badly infected bug bite, and my DH and I were concerned about staph, as my sister and her son have had MRSA and had been in contact with my daughter before her infection. The pedi prescribed Bactrim (of course) and DH and I decided to give it to her (much to my disappointment, I do NOT like chemical antibiotics). Either way, I coupled the Bactrim with goldenseal tincture and colloidal silver spray, as well as countering the Bactrim with probiotics. In the future, what could I give her to clear up an infection that could possibly be staph? I read in the Journal of Microbiology that raw and Manuka honey can clear MRSA staph from the body, as well as silver, goldenseal, and calendula. Has anyone here cured staph with any of these? What else could I use next time? I hate the fact that my daughter is taking Bactrim, and I don't want her system to get worn down and become susceptible to multiple reinfections. I just want to pump her full of probiotics right now.
Also, my DH is not very supportive of my attempts to be natural, so it makes it a little harder to avoid fights over our children's health and care approach. Where could I find scientific research to back up all of the natural healing information I have found?
Sorry about the essay! Thanks!
Jacque
