Last night was horrible. I had very intense contractions from around 5 until 10. Even my doula thought it was it because they were lasting a minute and I was getting really hot and flushed.
Then they abruptly stopped. I was sad but at least they didn't go half way into the night. Right after I crawl into bed my ex husband called. There was a bad family incident at his parents house and I had to go pick up ds at 11 and then drove ex to town because he was going to hitchhike and his mother was very upset about it. By the time I got to bed it was 1am and then had sporadic contractions all night long.

Wow! Sounds like you had a really rough night. Hope things are going better today.

There isn't a whole lot new to report here. Been having some really random bh, but other than that, nothing. I did finally pack my bag last night and I am goingto buy my car seat and make my sling today.

I am a little concerned because I think that the baby may have moved to a funky position over night. I am getting a ton of pressure on my pelvis near my right hip, and I am hoping it isn't the head or anything funky like that, but my belly seems to have taken a really funny shape today too. (It looks crooked.) Ah, pregnancy is so much fun.

: Happy dance for me! I'm 37 wks today. i just went and bought the remaining supplies for the homebirth kit, and will assemble that today. Then, it's just random things to finish here and there, and put some frozen meals away.

vanessa: it sounds like a rough night. hope you can rest a bit today, and that once labour starts, it will just get done!

I thought, for sure, that last night was going to be the night. I had uncomfortable contractions all afternoon. They started as soon as I sat on the birth ball and started lightly bouncing. And they continued. Until bedtime. I guess I can't really complain since I was able to sleep. I've only felt a couple so far today.

Vanessa, sorry you had such a rough night last night. And I hope whatever happened w/ your X's family doesn't affect your little guy too much.

Feeling more crampy, my BHs are a bit stronger, but nothing that is making me think it'll be anytime soon. I'm just going to go til the end of the month, and I have to deal with it!

I think my water broke this morning. I'm having contrax but they're not very regular. Been doing a bit of nipple stim to get them going stronger. Wish me luck!

Good luck! I'm jealous! Hey, three posts in a row from 38w2d'ers! Maybe you'll start something with us two left!

40w6d.

Keep getting those little bouts of painful contractions, but then I can manage to fall asleep during/around them so of course they go away. Need to reschedule my appt this week - had figured I'd just need a post-partum visit, not a prenatal still. Also need to figure out the logistics of risking out next week.

LacieD...you lucky mama! ELV coming your way.

As for me, it was another sleepless night last night, due to the humidity and my general discomfort. I think I'm 37 wks 1 day. I also think my abdominal muscles separated last night when I turned from my left to my right side...I felt a sharp pain right down the middle of my tummy and it's all sore today. boo. Nothing else has been happening though. I'm a zombie but still trying to get stuff done with regards to diapers and organizing. Gah, I'll be preggers forever. The wife of an old coworker of mine was due exactly on the same date as me and she gave birth on Friday. ARG!!

40 weeks 1 day

Today is my "due date"

I went to the hospital last night in a panic.. My whole entire body was swollen and I was unsure if it was from the heat or if it could be blood pressure related (my bp has been perfect pretty much the whole time) or a combo of both. Of course my bp was higher than usual because I was worried about it being high. I got hooked up to a machine to monitor the baby, and everything was ok, and I felt like an idiot, but I'd rather go and get checked and it be nothing than ignore it and have it be something serious.

39/6, tomorrow's D-day...thought i was getting somewhere last night and realized that I am really SCARED of labor this time! isn't that weird? my labor with dd was more painful than the other two and i am afraid of going thru that again. hopefully my fear isn't going to prolong this pregnancy...not sure how to work thru that at this point.
regardless, the a/c is getting fixed tomorrow, so i'm glad i'm still pg. it has been SO HOT here, i can't imagine homebirthing in this humidity, it would be awful.

I had a kinda exciting weekend...with NOTHING to show for it!

I woke up Sunday with intense regular 3-5 minute contractions...then after FIVE hours they just slowly tappered off into NOTHING... I was soo irritated... I Know its still early for me 37.5 days but after five hours and then NOTHING I was ready to cry!!

A few hours later I felt better because I definitely effaced some...so thats exciting!

My midwife leaves the island on the 12th, not back til the 19th...so I'll be crossing my legs! :P

So excited for all our new mama's, excited for those that have some progress, and I'm praying for you that are ready to pop!!

Blessings everyone, I hope we all have a GREAT week!

37+4. The birthcenter thinks I'm 37 weeks today, so I made it through the weekend where I knew I was term, but they thought I wasn't. Hooray!

Not much happening here. Knitting a little hat for the babe. Trying to finish up some new diapers for Nora, but my motivation is really, really low. Meh. I'll get them done eventually.

I'm settling into my pattern of serious prodomal labor every night. For whatever reason, I'm more at peace w/ it this pregnancy... I'm much better at tuning it out. I definitely have less of the excited "this time it really *is* it" and much more of a "ok, uterus, if this is it, prove it" attitude. Dh thinks that we'll have the babe sometime this week. We'll see. I'm not in much of a hurry.

That said, Audrey was born at 37+4 around 1pm, so this is now the 3rd longest pregnancy for me. Kind of interesting to think that the babe could be here any moment, you know? I actually think that's why I'm in less of a hurry than I have been in the past. I know this might be our last (dh feels differently, lol), and I was thinking the other day... I only have so many more days of wondering if today's the day and being excited about anticipating a new person joining our life. I'm savoring it a bit.

Which means I'm probably not close, b/c historically I hit the wall and am just about ready to cut the babe out myself before I go into labor. I think I'm just too comfortable still to be near the end. I can think of worse things......

Vanessa - I'm sorry your night was so rough... I hope things get going for you soon and that all this windup leads to a really easy labor for you!

lmonter - Is there any chance that your mw could "massage" your dates a bit to give you a little more time? Have you started looking at any of the more natural, home induction methods?

LacieD - ELV to you mama!! Wishing you a wonderful & peaceful labor and birth!

I'm 37+2 I think. I've been having lots of contractions, some of them painful. DS came early, so I can't help but think it might be soon. But then, it might be another 5 weeks : like a PP, I think I am way too comfortable to have this baby yet. I'm just not feeling done.

Number one on my to-do list is to cage my tomatoes. I procrastinate it every day and they are just getting bigger and bigger. Pretty soon its going to be impossible. Its not something DP understands, so I just know if I don't get it done TODAY I am going to have this baby and they will never be staked or caged. Everything else is done so maybe I am putting it off so that I always have something on my to-do list

D-day is Thursday and I've had two people in the last two days ask me (when I tell them this) "So are you getting induced?" What's with these people?? Does the whole world get induced these days?

Still trying to convince the baby that tomorrow would be an excellent birthday, but I've scheduled lots of unimportant projects and errands just in case

38 weeks, 1 day

This morning I woke up feeling really dizzy, lightheaded, and of course that made my stomach feel pretty bad. After breakfast I crawled back into bed for about an hour. I'm not feeling quite as bad now, but still not all together with it. I hope it eases up sometime today because there are things I'd like to do! I'm finally on Maternity Leave and I didn't expect my first week off to start out like this.

I've been having tons of braxton hicks. Lots of activity from the baby, too.

We got the car seat from my sister on Saturday and it's installed now. I just ordered a sling yesterday. Just a very tiny list of things that we still need, now.

Just holding steady (grump).
Nothing new to report. SUPER owie ctx. when they come, but otherwise, normal strong BHs and regular life.
