How big should a tub be?

I have a pretty big garden tub. One of the first things I did when we came to see the house was get in on my hands and knees to see if it would be big enough to have a baby in.

It seems to be a good size, pretty deep and nice and big. Now I'm trying to decide if I should borrow a birth tub as well, or just plan on using my bath tub.

Any experience? Also, it is a jetted tub. Is there anything I should do (besides the normal run them every once in a while) to clean the jets?

ask your midwives what they think of your tub
a garden tub is often plenty big enough- one of the drawbacks can be how big the surrounding space is because the mw and her assistant and your support will need to fit in/around.

My midwife suggested that the tub be at least 22" deep. It needs to cover your belly completely for the benefit of the water.
