I have a great fitting and looking vintage dress that my dd2 just started wearing today. (Dd1 wore it, too, a long time ago... and I got it previously owned for her.) I'd say it's at least 25 years old. The fit and look are so great that I want another one.
I just don't know where to start.
It's a sundress with a simple bodice w/buttons in the back and a pretty full gathered bottom skirt.
I was thinking I should start w/the bodice as that would be the more complicated part. It doesn't have a collar or sleeves, thank goodness, and the neckline is square. The bodice is not self-lined, but there is no bias tape used and there isn't any interfacing used around the buttons/buttonholes. The skirt would be easy.
I know this is a silly question, but do I just lay it out on the table and start tracing, adding for seam allowance?
I would really appreciate any help or pointers from someone who has done this before. Thanks so much!
