Skin tests vs RAST

My ds had the skin test done at his allergist and I am really wondering if a complete blood test would be more accurate. He was tested for ten things and came up positive for four (peanut, wheat, egg and milk). I am really thinking that he is allergic to more than what he was tested for since we have eliminated those from our diets and he is still scratching up a storm.
My MIL has suggested an ALCAT and I just was reading the other post on it.
What are your thoughts on skin vs. blood tests?
I am really suspecting mold and dust too which totally stinks since our heat is forced air

My experience has been the opposite. My blood tests showed mild and fairly insignificant allergies, where my under-skin test was really clear (and ended up with my needing an Epi-pen). I don't know if it's different for food allergies though--mine are mostly environmental.

We had the SPT done at the same time as the APT (patch test). The SPT came up all negative but the APT had 10 positives... In fact, the patch test has the lowest false positive rate of all western testing, but it is most effective for non IgE mediated allergies- and is especially good for eczema/GI reactions.
