Have you had success with EPO?

I am about to start EPO with ds and wanted to get an idea from others if they felt it works. I have heard mixed things about it.
Any idea of how much I should give to a 15 month old?

Evening Primrose Oil

I had success with popping the capsules open and rubbing EPO on my DD's head. Her poor scalp was inflamed and crusty and oozy and I would rub EPO twice a day on it and it was completely healed within a few days. Sadly it didn't work for the rest of the eczema on her body. But for her head it worked great!

For ingesting, have you tried giving him cod liver oil?

I have been taking it sporadically myself since we are nursing. Sporadically meaning when I remember. I have made myself a list of what he and I need to do daily so I will remember to do it. I have three boys and I HS the oldest so I don't always remember everything I need to do. I was thinking of giving him a tsp a day. Would that be a good start? I know it takes months to kick in.

I give my 2 and 4 year olds 1/2 teaspoon of high vitamin CLO every day. I started when the 2-year-old was 6 months and I saw major improvements in her eczema after 2 weeks. I also started her on probiotics at the same time and finally found a lotion that seemed to help her so it was probably a combo of everything. I don't do the lotion or probiotics on a regular basis anymore with her but I do do the CLO every day and her skin is completely clear now.

It's so hard to remember EVERYTHING that we need to do with these high maintenance kids of ours.

My babe gets 1/2 tsp. of CLO twice a day (1 tsp. per day total), FWIW.

My dd gets 1/2 tsp High Vit CLO and one capsule of EPO per day.

I take 1 tsp HVCLO and 2 capsules EPO per day.

I read a while back that while the CLO is good, it is better to have a few sources of good oils going in. I'm not crazy about flax oil for a few reasons (causes loose stools, can possibly cause miscarriage) so I do the EPO. When her eczema was bad I used to open the caps and rub on her skin.

Did not know that... was about to go buy some! We can't do CLO because fish is on our bad list. Is EPO a good alternative? Just externally, or taken internally as well?? Or what other oils can we substitute for healing and inflammation (eczema)?
