good hummus recipe without tahini or other nut products?

x- posted in vegan/vegetarian living. I thought this might be a good place to post as well since families with allergies might have some good suggestions...

does anyone have a good hummus recipe without tahini?

we are delaying introduction of sesame (and all nut products) to DS due to family food allergies, but I really think he'd like hummus if I made some for him without tahini (plus, DH and I are hummus addicts and I hate not being able to offer it to DS).

Sesame is a seed. Are you delaying all seeds?

If not, you can use Sunbutter. If you're delaying seeds and using legumes, you can use Golden Peabutter.

Or you could just skip it. The texture and flavor will be entirely different.

sorry! i probably should have been more clear. we are delaying seeds (although i LOVE sunbutter). rather than just using a regular hummus recipe and skipping the tahini (thus, making it taste completely different), i guess i was hoping to find a recipe that didn't include any seed or nut products to begin with so that maybe the flavors would be slightly more balanced.

I just make it with lemon juice, olive oil and garlic. Oh, and salt.

I agree with Chinese Pistache. I've never been fond of the ones with tahini anyway. I like the texture better when it's just ground chickpeas. Makes me want to go upstairs and dig out the food processor!
