Fluoride for toddler?

Hey all.....what's the consensus on fluoride these days?
We're on well water and the doctor said we need to get it tested for fluoride content and if it's too low we'll have to give our toddler fluoride.
I just want to be more informed in case she does reccomend fluoride after the test comes back.

I think there are lots of parents who are concerned about having too much fluoride and it can be a problem. If your water tests low though, it can be a really helpful thing at certain ages to supplement w/ fluoride so that the enamel develops strong. Sometimes I think it's even better than fluoridated city water since you don't have all the chlorine and whatever else gets in there.
Without it your kids are more prone to cavities. This is JMO and it's based on being a dental hygienist for 15 years! If you choose to go w/o it then really supervise perfect brushing and (of course) keep the sugar drinks and snacks out. even milk can cause decay and if kids drink it all day, you can get decay.

Your doctor is wrong and so is the PP. Fluoride is a poison and should never be ingested. I never willing allow my children to ingest fluoride including via drinking water, it is a neurotoxin and it has never been proven to be beneficial.
