Blah, I've got the diaper-makin' blues

Help me out mamas...I'm in a diaper making slump, and I've got less than 3 weeks to go before bellybean gets here.

So far my stash includes
12 infant prefolds
20 pockets/fitted diapers in newborn and small sizes
4 longies made from wool or recycled fleece
6 wool soakers
4 fleece covers

I KNOW I need at least 16 more fitted/pocket diapes as well as 12 more prefolds, but I can't for the life of me get motivated to make them...it doesn't help that I'd have to order the fabric online (yay for canada!)...

Any suggestions to get out of this sewing slump?!

try some "not so flat wrap"s. its a free pattern from little comet tails, and is super easy. no elastic, can be done with snaps or hook and loop. making a few of those since they are so easy may be enough to get you back going strong.

They are meant to be used with prefolds, and are sized along with the different sized perfolds, but I have one I was given that has a regular soaker in it (think like a snap in soaker) and for newborn at least, it is fine.

you can make then out of fleece to be covers for over prefolds, or out of cottons/other absorbants and use a cover over. (instead of snapping/pinning the prefolds)

Fabric (except for PUL) can be found all over the place. Old towels for soakers/stuffers. Flannel blankets & sheets from the thrift store make great diapers. Old t-shirts & sweatshirts.
Making a lot of diapers can be a bit monotonous. How about a few cute flannel prints or cutting a funny t-shirt to be a diaper. I'm more motivated to sew them when they're more fun to look at.

Yep, I think the NSFW is a good idea and maybe a little bit of fabric shopping might get me in the mood again. Ideally I'd like to make more diapes out of stretchy materials so they'll fit the bub for longer.

I haven't been in YEARS, but thanks for reminding me...I'll go this week-end! Maybe it'll make the baby decide it's time to come out.
